The Lions Club was founded, nationally, in 1917 and since then has grown into an international organization with 1.3 million members. The club mission is to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding. This mission can be best summarized by the Lions motto “We Serve”. See www.lionsclubs.org for additional details on the Lions Club many efforts.
Locally the Exeter Lions Club was chartered on November 10, 1938 and fully adheres to the mission statement stated above. See the “Charities” tab for a partial listing of the many charities we give financial support. In addition to financial support the Club also devotes many man-hours to community and school events and projects.
The Club meets weekly with the breakfast meeting focused on a program of outside speakers. The speakers may be local officials, members of other charitable organizations or simply have interesting topics
